Annunciamo con piacere la nascita di un nuovo tool targato Freemodding.it: il suo nome è Koala.


Koala è un nuovo software che nasce con uno scopo ben preciso: facilitare l'installazione dei nuovi sistemi operativi Windows su macchine sprovviste di unità ottica.
Da qualche anno ormai è esploso il fenomeno netbook, macchine dal costo molto contenuto e dalle prestazioni più che adeguate per svolgere compiti di routine e all'occorrenza anche dell'altro, fattori che hanno indubbiamente contribuito ad una diffusione "a macchia d'olio" di tali prodotti.
In virtù della filosofia del costo e delle dimensioni contenute, la totalità di questi sistemi è praticamente sprovvista di unità ottica, che ostacola un pò l'utente alle prime armi desideroso di aggiornare il proprio netbook con una delle ultime versioni di Windows, normalmente distribuite su DVD.
Stesso discorso può essere applicato a qualsiasi macchina compatta, come un dispositivo nettop o un server.



Koala permette di risolvere con facilità il problema, presentandosi all'utente come uno strumento dall'interfaccia semplice e accessibile, sarà sufficiente un numero esiguo di click e il programma provvederà per voi a generare un pendrive autoavviabile per consentirvi di effettuare l'installazione del sistema operativo sulla vostra macchina, il tutto senza dover ricorrere a tool dal funzionamento parziale o incomprensibile o strani comandi da immettere via riga di comando: Koala penserà a tutto.



Koala è un software estremamente semplice da usare, è sufficiente soddisfare i seguenti requisiti:
  • Computer equipaggiato con Windows 2000 Professional o Server, XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2
  • Runtime di .Net Framework 2.0
  • Un DVD di installazione di Windows Vista, 7, Server 2008 o Server 2008 R2 (o qualora disponiate dei file ISO, come nel caso degli iscritti Technet, MSDN o MSDN-AA, un software per montare la ISO come Virtual CloneDrive della SlySoft)
  • Un pendrive USB di capacità uguale o superiore a 4Gb



I passi da seguire per ottenere il vostro pendrive di installazione sono essenziali:

Passo 1: Avvio dell'applicazione

Passo 2: inserimento del pendrive e del supporto ottico, quindi scansione alla ricerca della sorgente



e successivamente scansione alla ricerca della destinazione



Passo 3: Avvio della procedura di creazione del pendrive



Passo 4: Attesa che la procedura esegua tutte le operazioni necessarie e giunga a conclusione. La procedura può richiedere dai 6 ai 10 minuti su un pendrive USB2.0 di discreta velocità, come un DataTraveler di Kingston. Il tempo varia in funzione del sistema operativo scelto come sorgente e delle prestazioni del pendrive USB.



Passo 5: rimozione del pendrive dal sistema.



Conclusi questi 5 semplici passi, sarete in grado di installare la vostra copia di Windows tramite il pendrive appena creato (naturalmente prestando attenzione all'ordine di boot delle periferiche nel bios della macchina sulla quale andrete ad effettuare l'installazione).
Come ultima cosa, il tool è disponibile in ben sei lingue (Italiano, Inglese, Coreano, Giapponese, Arabo e Russo).


Licenza d'uso:

Il software viene concesso con licenza d'uso FREEWARE. È concesso all'utente il permesso di effettuare quante copie dell'applicazione desidera, e di distribuirla con qualsiasi supporto di memorizzazione o distribuzione digitale, a patto di mantenere le informazioni sul copyright e sulla proprietà del tool inalterate.

We're pleased to announce the birth of a new tool powered by Freemodding.it, the name is Koala.


Koala is a new software with a clear aim: to make as easy as possible the installation of new Windows Operating Systems on machines without an optical drive, for instance a net-book or a net-top.
The net-book phenomenon has exploded in the last years, machines with low purchase price and performance levels more than adequate for daily tasks and more, and it have undoubtedly helped to spread such products on a worldwide  level.
With the philosophy of low cost and small size, all these systems are provided without an optical drive: this hinders a bit the novice user wishing to update his or her net-book with one of the latest version of Windows, usually distributed on DVDs. The same argument can be applied to any other compact machine, like a net-top or a server.



Koala  helps you to solve the problem in a easy way, thanks to its simple and clean interface:  with just a small number of steps the program will make for you an auto-bootable USB  thumb drive that will allow you to install the Operating System on your machine, all without the typical annoyance of  half-functioning  tools or complicate commands in a command prompt: Koala will handle everything for you!



To use Koala, you only need to meet the following requirements:
  • A Computer equipped with one of the following Windows Operating Systems: 2000 Professional or Server, XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2
  • .Net Framework 2.0 Runtime
  • An installation DVD of one of the following Windows Operating Systems: Vista, 7, Server 2008 or Server 2008 R2 (if you are a Technet, MSDN or MSDN-AA subscriber and you have the ISO file, you'll just need an ISO mounting software like SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive)
  • A USB thumb drive with a total capacity equal or greater than 4GB



You’ll just need to follow these simple steps to get your USB thumb-drive installer:

Step 1: Run the program

Step 2: Insert the thumb-drive and the installation DVD, then scan to find source...



... and destination drives



Step 3: Start the procedure



Step 4: Wait for the software to complete the whole procedure. The thumb-drive creation process could take from 6 to 10 minutes on a good-speed thumb-drive like a Kingston DataTraveler  USB 2.0. The time will depend on some factors, like the Operating System version chosen as source and the USB thumb-drive performances.



Step 5: remove the USB thumb-drive from your PC



Doing these 5 easy steps, you will be able to install your copy of Windows using the USB thumb-drive you just made
You will, of course, have to pay attention about the boot devices order in the BIOS configuration menu of the machine on which you will perform the installation.

Finally, the tool is available in six languages (English, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Arabic and Russian)

You are granted the permission to make as many copies of the software as you wish, and distribute them in any storage media or with any digital distribution method, provided that you keep the copyright information and ownership of the tool unchanged.

Finalmente dopo un lungo periodo di betatesting interno abbiamo finalmente rilasciato la versione definitiva!!

mi sembra na figata! non so se esistono soft simili, ma certamente ci sono... comunque uno free targato freemodding e sicuramente piu figo!
